Meet Bruno, a soft and lovable teddy bear designed to bring comfort, warmth, and a touch of handmade charm. I created this pattern while looking for the perfect cuddly toy for my own kids. Something gentle, simple, and easy for little hands to carry and snuggle.
With his cozy body and sweet embroidered face, Bruno is a timeless companion. You can add a tiny scarf or bow to make him even more special and truly your own. Whether you’re making him as a baby shower gift, a bedtime buddy, or a keepsake for someone you love, Bruno is sure to be treasured. Let’s bring Bruno to life, one stitch at a time.
Bruno is part of a special collection of cuddly animal friends I’ve designed. All free patterns and perfect for mixing and matching. You can also make:
- Kenny the Koala: gentle and soft, with big round ears
- Charlie the Cat: curious and cozy, with pointy little ears
- Bella the Bunny: sweet and calm, dressed in tiny overalls

Materials you’ll need
To create Bruno the Bear, I chose super bulky weight yarn (#6) for that soft and plush feel. Specifically, I used a combination of:
- Hobbii Baby Snuggle Teddy Bear for the main body
- Hobbii Baby Snuggle Solid Dusty Blue for the pants
- Hobbii Honey Bunny Shine in Lemon Curd for the top
You’ll also need a 5.0mm crochet hook to work the stitches comfortably, along with a tapestry needle and scissors for finishing details.
For stuffing, polyfill helps give Bruno his perfect cuddly shape, especially around the head. And to bring his sweet face to life, I used black cotton yarn for the embroidered eyes and nose, adding that gentle, handmade touch.
Be sure to use embroidered eyes instead of safety eyes to avoid choking hazard to small children.
