About Crazy Crochet Studio

Hello and welcome to Crazy Crochet Studio!

Hello! I’m Loredana, a proud mum of two, living a simple, fulfilling life on a little farm surrounded by nature’s beauty. Born and raised in the Netherlands, I’m the heart (and hooks!) behind this cozy corner of the internet where crochet and creativity come to life. I’m blessed to share this journey with my loving partner, our old red cat, and my two wonderful little helpers (my son and my daughter). They fill my days with laughter, creativity, and endless inspiration. In fact, it’s often my daughter’s whimsical ideas and love for magical animals that inspire many of the patterns you’ll find here.

When I’m not crocheting, I enjoy spending time in our big garden. Working outside and growing plants is really relaxing for me. I also like going for walks in nature, breathing fresh air, and clearing my mind. These peaceful moments often inspire my crochet projects.

I love life on the farm, but I also really enjoy the beach. Especially tropical ones with soft sand and clear water. The sound of waves and the warm sun always make me feel happy and inspired. It’s a special place where my creativity comes alive.

One of my favorite things is going on beach adventures with my partner and our children. Whether it’s collecting seashells, playing in the sand, or simply soaking up the sun together, those moments are some of the happiest and most memorable for us. The beach is where I feel most free, and it’s often where the best crochet ideas come to me.

What started as a simple hobby has blossomed into a true passion. I honestly can’t imagine a day without my ever-growing collection of yarn and hooks. Crochet has become not just a craft but a way to express myself, unwind, and create something beautiful from scratch. And, of course, I do it all with my old red cat curled up beside me, soaking in the warm yarny vibes.

At Crazy Crochet Studio, my mission is simple, yet deeply meaningful: to inspire, teach, and connect with fellow yarn lovers from all walks of life. Crochet has brought so much joy, calm, and creativity into my world, and I created this space to share that same spark with others.

All of the patterns I share here are completely free. That’s because when I was just starting out, I remember how valuable it was to come across kindhearted makers who freely offered their knowledge and patterns. It helped me grow, boosted my confidence, and made me feel part of a bigger community. Now, it feels only right to give back in the same way.

One of the things I love most is designing filet crochet patterns. There’s something so satisfying about how a simple mesh of stitches can come together to reveal beautiful, delicate pictures. It’s a technique that continues to inspire me, and I’m thrilled to share many of my own filet designs with you here.

Whether you’re picking up a hook for the very first time or have been crocheting for years, I hope you’ll find something here that makes you smile, teaches you something new, or inspires your next cozy project. You’re always welcome here, and I’m so glad our yarn paths have crossed.

Thank you so much for visiting Crazy Crochet Studio. I hope you’ll join me on this crochet adventure. Let’s create, learn, and share the joy of crochet together and, of course, bring a little bit of magic and nature into our stitches!

Happy crocheting!
Loredana

Free filet crochet pattern: Giraffe

This filet crochet giraffe head is a simple, fun and free pattern

This is the very first square in a special project I’m making for my son. I’m making a handmade blanket filled with wild animals. This filet crochet giraffe head is a simple, fun and free pattern that works great as part of a larger blanket, but it also stands beautifully on its own. You could use it to make a cushion, a wall hanger, or even frame it as nursery art. Whatever fits your space.

Free crochet pattern: Flamingo Square

Bring a touch of tropical elegance to your crochet projects with this Flamingo Granny Square—a stunning free crochet pattern.

This design was inspired by my love for all things tropical. Flamingos have always captured my imagination. I wanted to capture that carefree, summer vibe in a playful crochet square that brings a splash of fun and warmth to your projects. Whether you’re adding it to a seasonal blanket, a sunny cushion, or turning it into a cheerful wall hanging, this flamingo square brings a little piece of paradise to your hook.
